I Love Promarkers DT Card

It's Wednesday so it's challenge time over at I Love Promarkers.  This week we want to see your "Cute" creations.  Our sponsor this time is 2 Cute To Ink, with a prize of some super cute digis up for grabs.  We'd love you to play along.
The DT got an image to play with, I went for this cutie, being a cat lover and keen baker it is perfect for me!  It's coloured with Promarkers of course, using fine nibs to create hairy texture.
The papers are Dovecraft Piece of Cake, which have been lurking in my stash for a while, I really like the pink and brown colour combo.
The sentiment stamp is from a magazine freebie set and the cupcake embellishment was made with a Spellbinders die.
Ribbon, a bow with a cupcake brad in the centre, and a few pink gems finish it off.

Autumn Gnome

Wow, what a spend up I had at the SECC at the weekend!  We had a wonderful weekend away, but, because of my fibromyalgia, I'm too tired and sore to play with my new goodies yet.  It is well worth a few bad days though, I can't wait to use some of my new purchases.
I made this card before I went away, using this oh so cute free digi from Birdie Brown. He's been coloured with Promarkers in autumn shades.  I went round the edge of the topper with Distress Ink in Scattered Straw to add a bit of warmth.
The patterned papers and sentiment are Papermania, from the Woodland Folk range, which I teamed with a kraft blank, orange wood-grain cardstock and yellow card for matting, adding a punched edge to one of the yellow mats with an EK Success leafy punch.
I finished my card with a ribbon, bow and a die cut leaf and acorn made with my Fall Foliage Spellbinders dies.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Birdie Brown - October freebie challenge
Celebrate the Occasion - #86 - fall
Use It Tuesday - #42 - use orange.  My older stash is the Woodland Folk stuff, I've has it ages

Cutie Pie DT Card

We have a new challenge starting today over at Cutie Pie, this time we want to see "Distressing".  How you distress your cards is up to you, think scuffed edges, torn paper, sanding and inking, anything which gives a shabby look.  Our sponsors this time are, Stamp and Create and  A Passion For Stamps, so why not play along for a chance to win some lovely digis.
I've used Ruth's lovely scabious image, coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers, then gone round the edges of the topper with Milled Lavender Distress Ink.  The patterned papers are Prima Meadow Lark, which I've teamed with Core'dinations which has been embossed with a Sheena Douglass embossing folder and then sanded.  All the edges have been scuffed with my Tim Holtz tool and I've added in some torn paper to complete the shabby look.  The final touches are some lace, ribbon, a bow and a few dew drops.
Robyn's Fetish - #131 - use an embossing folder
Eclectic Ellapu -  #3 - 1 image, 2 DP, 3 of the same embellishments, I used dew drops
The Squirrel and the Fox - #29 - use ribbon
Clearly Inspired - #62 - ribbon or twine

Penny's Paper-Crafty - #99 - ribbon and/or buttons

Bathtime Tulip

I was naughty.  Again!  But it was a bargain!  Even although I'm going to the SECC this weekend for a mega stash splurge (can't wait!!!), and was meant to be on a stash diet (a bit like lent before Easter!), I treated myself to a Tulip bargain pack from Docrafts.  Ten of my lovely pounds got me, wait for it, two sets of Tulip stamps, a paper pack, two packs of stepper cards, blanks, two decoupage packs, die cuts, stickers and several packs of Elements toppers!  Told you it was a bargain!  I had swithered over this stamp set for so long, almost buying it several times, so I just had to have this pack, bearing in mind that one of the stamp sets would have cost me seven pounds on it's own!
The stamp set I've used here is one of those fun sets, where, with a bit of masking, you can create a scene, the girl in the bath, bath mat, mirror and champagne bottle are all separate stamps.  It's been coloured with my usual Promarkers, then I highlighted the bubbles with Diamond Stickles, and gave the mirror a bit of shine with Anita's 3D Gloss.
I used one of the stepper cards from the pack, along with the paper and two die cut sentiments.  The only things not from the pack are the Martha Stewart punched back panel, and the bow and gems.
Expect to see lots more from Tulip soon!
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Tuesday Alchemy - #37 - random words, I chose "bath"
Papercrafting Journey - ribbon or twine
Addicted to Stamps - use markers
Stamp 'n' Doodle - #24 - ribbon or twine
Creative Card Crew - #22 - fancy folds

Oriental Lady

My friend, Alison, recently treated herself to this stunning Kanban stamp and we spent a lovely evening together colouring her with Promarkers.  She's massive and great fun to colour, I just love colouring folds in fabric so I was in my element with this one.
The papers are Papermania Oriental, and, what doesn't shop up very well in the photo is that the horizontal layer is foiled.  It's a gorgeous pack with a good mix of both muted shaded, as I've used here, and really vibrant colours.  I bought the paper pack and the collectors pack in this range for when I take a notion for something oriental, and every time I use it, I wonder why I don't get it out more often!
The mat the lady is on was created by stamping with a Papermania V&A stamp in Perfect Medium which I then dusted with mica powder for some subtle shimmer.  It's a superb stamp and has a repeat, so you can line it up and stamp a continuous pattern as large as you want.
The sentiment is a stamp from a Personal Impressions set, a handy set of unusual sentiments which has certainly been well used.  As the image is so large and detailed, I resisted the temptation to go all out with the embellishments as I usually do, opting for clean lines and a few brown gems and grey pearls.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Sketch Saturday - #230 - sketch
Addicted to Stamps and More - use markers
Craftroom Challenge - oriental
Creative Inspirations Paint - anything goes
Stamptacular Sunday - #186 - no rules

I Love Promarkers DT Card

We have a new challenge starting today over at I Love Promarkers, this week our theme is, "Christmas is Coming".  I'm sure the nine weeks left 'til the most magical day of the year will fly by, so, if you haven't started your cards yet, why not dig out your Promarkers and play along.  We are sponsored this time by Marianne, who are offering a fabulous prize to the challenge winner.
In keeping with our sponsor, I used these lush Marianne papers and a Marianne poinsettia die.  I bought the papers last year but still have plenty left as I hardly wanted to cut into them because they're so gorgeous, they even smell great!  The other dies I used are from the Spellbinders Fall Foliage set, my latest craft crush, I'm sure my Calibur is sick of the sight of them!
The image is a Lili of the Valley stamp, another of last year's purchases and this is only the second time she's seen ink.  Why do I keep buying stamps?!  After colouring, I went round the edges of the topper, whilst still in the die, with Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass, and highlighted the falling snow with Star Dust Stickles.
I recently came across  the burgundy angel hair stuff in my stash, I've got no recollection of buying it but it's lovely, somewhere between fabric and mulberry paper.  I had a bit of a job tearing it but I'm glad I persevered.
The border punch I used is Martha Stewart, such a handy one for Christmas projects, and I finished my card off with, rather unsurprisingly, some ribbon and a bow.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
The Crazy Challenge - #130 - handmade flowers
Anything Goes - #78 - make your own embellishments
Stamp and Create - winter wonderland
Oozak - die cuts
The Craft Garden - recipe, choose 4, I chose, flower, pink, ribbon and sparkle
Lili's Little Fairies - anything goes

Hanging Star

Here's my project from last night's craft session with the girls.  After our tea and home made apple and hazelnut biscuits, we made hanging star Christmas decorations.  We saw something similar at a Docrafts demo with Geraldine Carruthers recently and all decided to have a go.  I went with a homespun vintage look for mine, using brown Core'dinations and double sided scrapbooking paper to make a large wall hanging star.  The triangles were all cut with Xcut nesting bunting dies, layered up to create the star shape, with the small triangles being folded at the wide edges.  I made the central rosette from more brown Core'dinations, which I punched with a Martha Stewart border punch and scored on my Hougie board, adding a scalloped circle to the middle, topped with a wooden leaping dear.  I stuck Boofle buttons, all slightly different to each other, to the points to add to the folksy look and finished off with a ribbon hanging loop and bow.
I'm entering this project in the following challenges -
Pile It On - #43 -  any holiday, I went for Christmas
Quirky Crafts - #22 - anything but a card using autumn colours
Stampalot - use a punch, I used a border punch on the rosette
Totally Papercrafts - #139  - Christmas
Winter Wonderland - anything but a card

All I Want For Christmas Is.....

It's a Bugaboo card again, I just love these fun images and sentiments!  The naughty old bird has been coloured with Promarkers, don't you just love the look on her face?!  The sentiment has been inked with Shaded Lilac Distress Ink to match the Papermania Noel papers and the lady's lilac rinse.
Ribbon, bow, gems and a snowflake made with a die cut and a punched shape complete this simple card.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Emergency Crafters - recipe with a choice, I used everything except a flower
Jingle Belles - living creature
Totally Papercrafts - #139 - Christmas

Friends

I've been lucky enough lately to win quite a few Bugaboo digis and I'm so enjoying playing with them, they always make me smile.  I'm sure a lot of women can relate to this one!  It's been coloured, as per usual, with my Promarkers.
The papers are geriatric Papermania ones, probably from about six years ago, and matched perfectly with the claret and wine bottle green colour combo that I wanted to use, there's even a splash of pink to pick out the colour of the top of the lady on the right, and I thought the curly pattern echoed the crazy hair of two of them!
The border punch I used is a Martha Stewart one and I added some ribbon,a  bow, some Blitter flowers, green pearls and some Card Candi as a final flourish.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Papercrafting Journey - add some bling
Little Red Wagon - #155 - bow
Everybody-Art - #209 - bling
Eclectic Ellapu - anything goes

Digi Haven DT Project

If you're looking for my Fussy and Fancy card, it's in the post below.

Here's my second DT Post of the day, this time for Digi Haven, where we have a new challenge starting today.  This time we want to see your "Halloween" projects.  To play along all you need to do is follow the theme and use a free digi.  We have lots of links on the blog to some fabulous freebies and we'd love for you to play along.
I decided to make a Halloween decoration instead of a card, you'll find my fun image here.  Once printed all I did was mat and layer on black, then orange glitter cardstock.  I used narrow ultra tacky double sided tape to create a border on the black card and sprinkled it with black glitter for added sparkle.  Next, I added clear gems to the printed border and made a hanging handle from orange ribbon, attached with brads.  The cats hanging from the bottom of the sign are actually Halloween earrings from Tesco!  I bought three pairs and used them as charms!
I'm entering this project in the following challenges -
Crafting for all Seasons - #38 - spooky
Decorate to Celebrate - #36 Halloween decoration
The Paper Shelter - #86 - use a charm
Papertake - fright night
Ribbon Carousel - #73 - Halloween
Sassy Cheryl's - #137 - orange and black

Fussy and Fancy DT Card

We have a new challenge starting today over at Fussy and Fancy, this time it's "Anything Goes", who doesn't love an anything goes challenge?!
I made this card for my crafty friend, Margaret, who's birthday it was on Wednesday.  I decided to get inky with my Distress Inks on my non stick craft mat and a water spritzer.  I used Fired Brick, Barn Door, Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick, pressing the pads against the craft mat, then spraying with water.  I then just laid my card over the ink and swirled it about a bit and dried with a heat gun.  Once dry, I dropped some splatters of water on and dried again.  Peacock Feathers Distress Ink was then applied round the edge.  Next, I stamped some Rhonna Farrer swirls in Perfect Medium randomly over the panel and brushed with pale pink mica powder.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment in black ink using an Indigo Blu stamp borrowed from my friend, Alison.
The papers are Rosarian by Prima, to which I've added bright pink and dark teal cardstock for matting.
The flower was made with a Marianne die from Core'dinations and was threaded with ribbon and has a fuzzy velvet brad for a centre.  The leaves were made with my current favourite Spellbinders set, Autumn Foliage, again fro Core'dinations.
I added some black lace, bright pink ribbon and bow, a rose charm and two luscious large pearls to finish.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Crafts and Me - #106 - lace and pearls
Paper Pretties - #228 - sentiment as focal point
Paper Shelter - #86 - use a charm
Anything Goes - #78 - make your own embellishment - I made a flower

Christmas Postcard

Here's my card from our Monday night craft session.  This week we all used this fabulous Stampendous stamp which is a recent purchase.  Do I need Christmas stamps?  No!  But I just had to have this beauty.  I think it'll be a very versatile stamp so I should get plenty mileage out of it.  Everyone had a different take on this image, I decided to stamp onto kraft and add some colour with pencils.  I must used them more often, they usually get overshadowed by my Promarkers.  I also went in with some Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink round the edge.
The papers I've used are Papermania Silent Night, a stunning vintage pack from a couple of years ago.  I ended up buying two packs as I love them so much, I'm glad I did as I don't think they're easy to get hold of now.
The pine cones and sprig were made with Spellbinders Autumn Foliage dies, I'm so in love with them at the moment!  To finish, I added some brown organza ribbon and variegated metallic rickrack, and a few brown gems.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
ABC Christmas Challenge - U is for up to you
Deep Ocean - #36 - anything goes
Flourishes - #191 - winter

I Love Promarkers DT Card

We have an "Anything Goes" challenge for you, starting today, over at I Love Promarkers, so time to get your pens out and colour whatever you like!
The image I've used was a freebie but I can't for the life of me remember where from, it took a while to colour but I got totally absorbed in it.  I know they're summer blooms, but I decided to keep it seasonal by using and autumnal palette.  Because the image is so large, detailed and colourful, I kept the rest of the card simple, I just embossed some lines on my Hougie, placing a clear gem at each intersection, and added a white organza ribbon and bow.  It's as close to CAS as I'm ever gonna get!
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Stamp 'n' Doodle - anything goes
Bearly Mine - #57 - anything goes
Ladybug Crafts - flowers and embossing
Sarah Hurley - #73 - autumn
Emerald Faeries - #34 - anything goes

Feeling Blue!

My wonderful friend, Vic, had her twenty week scan last week and found out she is expecting a boy.  This will be her third boy and she's quite delighted, she says she wouldn't know what to do with a girl!
The image is a Bugaboo digi, as is the sentiment. and it's been coloured with Promarkers.  I love Bugaboo stamps, they always make me smile.
The papers are Papermania Capsule Collection in Blueberry Pie.  Where would I be without my Capsule Collection papers?!  They're so handy.
All I needed to finish off was some ribbon, a bow, gems, dew drops and paper flowers with button centres.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -

The mats behind the image were made from Black Magic Core'dinations, which I embossed with a Cuttlebug and a Craft Concepts folder, and sanded to reveal the coloured core.  The yummy embossed and foiled backing paper has been lurking in my stash for ages.
The loopy border punch I used is Martha Stewart and the star die cuts were made with Xcut dies from glitter card.  Some ribbon, a bow and some purple mirri Card Candi finish it off.

Handbag Notebooks

Mum and I had a fabulous crafternoon yesterday, getting a head start with some handmade Christmas presents.  We used a Sizzix die to make these fun notebooks, using mount board to make the covers nice and sturdy.  The die cut through it like butter, those Sizzix Bigz dies seem to cut just about anything!  The papers I used to cover the mount board are Papermania Capsule Collection and Boofle and the pages were made from good quality printer paper, I nearly lost the will to live cutting all those pages, even though I cut them eight at a time!  The book is held together with ribbon threaded through a hole in all the layers.  The buckles were made with the same die as the bags, I used satin board to give a metallic look.  Finally, I added a flowers made with an Xcut die and a button centre.
I'm entering this project in the following challenges -

Pink and Grey

I decided to do something a bit different from my usual with my Promarkers, combining grey scale with a splash of pink, I rather like how it's turned out.  The image is a digi from Whimsy Stamps, I think she is just adorable.  To complete the topper, I added some Star Dust Stickles to the seed heads for a touch of sparkle.  The papers are Papermania Capsule Collection in Parkstone Pink, to which I've added some plain pink and dark grey pearl cardstock.  The sentiment is from a Lili of the Valley stamp set and the flowers were made with Woodware punches.  I've finished off with my trademark ribbon, a bow and a scattering of gems and blobs of Pearl Pen.

Noel

Here's this week's project from our Monday night craft session.  This time, after tea and home made sticky ginger lemon drizzle cake, we all made Christmas cards with die cut poinsettias.  The dies for the flower are Marianne and the leaves were made with a Spellbinders die.  Once again, I used my much loved Papermania Henbury Lane Poinsettia kit which was a bargain earlier this year, even the tag and letter stickers are from it.  All I added to the mix was a Martha Stewart border punch, ribbon and rickrack, some plain, red pearl paper, gold gems and Card Candi.  That's another one done for the end of the year, I must have a count up and see how many I have now!

Archie's Christening Card

Our wee great-nephew, Archie, gets christened on Sunday and here's the card I made for the event.  It's not my usual sort of card but I enjoyed making it, even although there's no stamping on it at all!  I borrowed Mum's Spellbinders crosses and got busy with the embossing folders to give this simple card a bit of interest.  The bear was created with an ancient Xcut die which hasn't seen the light of day for aaagggeeesssss.  I should get it out more often as he's just so cute!  The name was done with Papermania stickers and I finished off with some knotted ribbon, dew drops and three heart gems.

The papers are Papermania Capsule Collection in Lincoln Linen and Parkstone Pink, to which I've added some plain pink card.  The lace border punch I used is Martha Stewart, my all time fave MS punch, and I've finished off with a ribbon, a bow, some fabric flowers, dew drops and gems.

Fun With Freebies

The freebies with this month's issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft are just so yummy, beautiful Hollie Hobbie  stamps and a matching paper pack.  The papers are a tad thin but they are double sided and the stamps are very detailed and a good size.  I had to play with them as soon as I got the magazine home from the supermarket and this is what I came up with.
The image has been coloured with Promarkers, thank goodness for fine nibs on this one!
The papers are all from the paper pack, all I added was the pink cardstock, even the poinsettias were fussy cut from patterned paper, with the addition of some tiny pale yellow pearls in the centres.
The sentiment stamp is from a Papermania set and all I needed to finish my card was a gingham bow, some blobs of Pearl Pen and half a ton of Glamour Dust which I used as an outline to all the layers.

More From Henbury Lane

Here's my project from last Monday's craft session with the girls.  After tea and home made ginger nuts, we made centre step cards using a B-C-E template.  I decided to dig out my Papermania Henbury Lane Poinsettia stuff again and this is what I came up with.  Most of the decoupage in the kit is fairly large making them perfect focal points on larger cards like this.  All needed to add to the kit was some maroon card for the blank, some white wood-grain card to layer the decoupage on, a punched strip made with a Martha Stewart holly punch, a gingham bow, some green pearls and some pink shimmer domes, red gems on the sentiment strip and some Anita's 3D Gloss on the berries.  OK, now I see all the extras written down it does sound a lot, but I do love my embellishments!
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -

We have a fun new challenge for you, starting today over at Digi Haven.  This time we want to see "Pumpkins".  All you need to do to play along is to use a free pumpkin digi, there are loads out there, check out the Digi Haven blog for lots of links.  The image I've used is from Dearie Dolls, you'll find it here.  Dearie Dolls have lots of lovely pumpkin images to choose from, I really enjoyed colouring this one with my Promarkers and Flexmarkers.  After colouring, I went round the edges with Scattered Straw and Wild Honey Distress Ink to add some autumnal warmth to the white cardstock.
The sentiment is from a Sheena Douglass stamp set.  The papers I've used are a mixture of Papermania Persimmon and Capsule Collection  in Sunshine, along with some textured blue cardstock and a kraft blank.  All the edges were scuffed with my Tim Holtz tool to give a shabby look.
The final touches are a ribbon, a bow, some wee buttons and a couple of leaves made with an Xcut punch.
Don't forget we also have our month long "Anything Goes" challenge where you can use any free digi you want, we'd love for you to come and play.

Happy Birthday Vicky!

My lovely, crafty friend, Vicky, is forty today and this is the card I made for her.  She's a fan of the Gorjuss Girls so I decided to use this lil' cutie.  Sorry for the dodgy photo, my camera seemed to have a bit of a nervous breakdown over photographing this card, it only seemed to want to focus on the bow rather than the image!  She's been coloured with Promarkers and the background was done with Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters Distress Inks, using a dusting brush.
The Monday nighters made spring cards the Monday before last, I has so much fun making mine that I decided to make another one.  Just like buses, I hadn't made one in ages and then two come along at once!
After colouring the image, I raided my mahoosive scrap box and die cut a load of leaves with Spellbinders dies, added a border punched with an EK Success punch, and finished with a ribbon, a bow and a stamped and bejeweled sentiment.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Crafty Creations - #190 - fall colours
Penny's Paper-Crafty - #96 - dies and punches
